Yesterday I met my friend Lisa at a park across the street from where her kids do Karate. She talked me into at least starting a walking routine regimen. I’d like to walk for 20 minutes a couple of times a week, and then again on Saturdays. Her company is one of those really big companies that has stuff like day care and a gym. So she’s got a personal trainer she works out with a couple of times a week.
Before we started walking we did a warm up. Um, I’m thinking maybe I should have just stretched my legs a little and then started walking. I’ve not even seen the inside of a gym in almost 5 years, and I haven’t walked for exercise in at least 3.
My legs are killing me. My thighs actually. I’m really pretty miserable right now. But, I’ve got to get myself moving. I’d love to find a pet stroller. I’ve mentioned it before, but I really would love to be able to take some of the cats on a walk. My plan is, to find a good and sturdy stroller (one that Vlad will fit in, he’s a big boy) and then I can take one for my walk each time I go. I know one or two of them might not like it, so if they don’t, I’ll leave them home. But for the ones that find it fun, I will take them. I need to get a stroller that has a water holder, one for me and one for my passenger. And since it’s going to begin getting warm, I need to look into a portable fan. Don’t want them to get heat exhaustion. 🙂
Anyway, I’m hoping I get at least to a point where I’m not miserable after walking. Lisa is doing a corporate run her company sponsors in April, so I told her to sign me up too. She doesn’t run, because she’s gets shin splints So we’ll be walking. I think it will be something cool to work towards!
